VOLT Hockey

Join the Action!

VOLT Hockey is an exciting, accessible form of floor hockey played in specially designed sports carts for individuals with a wide range of disabilities, particularly physical disabilities. It promotes inclusivity and gives everyone the chance to join in Canada’s beloved hockey tradition.

The sport is growing rapidly, with more than 50 teams across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the USA, and Canada. In 2016, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ontario – launched the first Canadian team at Variety Village in Toronto. Since then, they’ve worked to expand VOLT Hockey across Ontario, breaking down barriers and providing equipment, training, and awareness so children of all abilities can play.

Thanks to Variety Ontario’s support, Niagara Children’s Centre proudly launched our own team: the Niagara Stingrays.

The Stingrays provide children and youth with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in a team sport, develop lifelong skills such as teamwork and commitment, make friends, and, most importantly, have fun.
