Niagara Children’s Centre CEO Announces Retirement
Oksana Fisher to retire after 15 years of transformative leadership
St. Catharines, ON – “Working at Niagara Children’s Centre has been the highlight and most rewarding position of my career.”
With those words, Oksana Fisher made her decision official in a letter to staff. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) announced that her retirement will take effect on September 30, 2025, following 15 years of dedicated service and leadership.
Since joining the Centre in 2010, Fisher has guided the organization through a period of remarkable growth and transformation. Her tenure includes the introduction of new programs and services, the launch of a comprehensive family engagement strategy, the restructuring of fundraising operations, and the development of strategic community partnerships.
“While I am excited about starting a new chapter, I am also sad to think that my time with the Centre will be coming to an end,” said Fisher. “It has truly been an honour to serve as the Centre’s CEO and lead the organization through significant changes, a pandemic, and unprecedented growth. I am so proud of Niagara Children’s Centre, the incredible team of staff, and our impact on children and their families.”
Under Fisher’s leadership, Niagara Children’s Centre has strengthened its reputation as the region’s leading provider of rehabilitation and support services for children and youth with physical, developmental, and communicative delays. Her steady guidance—particularly through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic—has positioned the Centre for continued success and innovation.
“Oksana has been a visionary leader whose contributions have left an enduring mark on the Centre and the families we serve,” said Lois Ouellette, Board Chair of Niagara Children’s Centre. “We are grateful for her passion, commitment, and tireless advocacy over the years. She leaves behind a legacy of innovation, compassion, and excellence.”
The Centre’s Board of Directors has engaged EDGEPATH Talent Solutions to lead a national
executive search for Fisher’s successor. A new appointment is expected to be announced by September.
