Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA)

“Respect underlies all we do”

It's a core organizational value at Niagara Children's Centre and guides our commitment to creating an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and accessible environment for everyone.

We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community. We recognize that creating an inclusive culture is an ongoing journey that requires continuous learning, reflection, meaningful dialogue and a willingness to evolve our practices.

We are each responsible for contributing to a culture where everyone feels respected, valued and included. We work to identify and remove barriers so children, youth and families can fully participate in their communities, including in social, recreational and educational settings.

We are committed to listening, learning and improving. Share your ideas, experiences or feedback with us to help strengthen our equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility efforts. Feedback can be sent to info@niagarachildrenscentre.com.

Days of Significance Calendar

Our annual Days of Significance Calendar highlights international, national and provincial awareness months, weeks and days throughout the year.

The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.
