We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.
The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.

International Day of Sign Languages
The International Day of Sign Languages is a unique opportunity to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users. According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are more than 70 million deaf people worldwide with more than 80% of them living in developing countries. Collectively, they use more than 300 different sign languages.
