Niagara Children’s Centre is recognized
throughout the Niagara Region as the provider of rehabilitation and support
services to children and youth with physical, developmental and communicative
delays and disabilities. Core services
include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services,
augmentative and alternative communication, family services and therapeutic
recreation.
Niagara Children’s Centre is hiring for:
Occupational Therapist (Full-Time Contract Ending April 30, 2025) x 1
The Occupational Therapist works to
improve participation and quality of life through a child’s ability to perform
role-appropriate, day-to-day tasks necessary for self-care (such as feeding, dressing,
toileting); productivity
(such as school, work); and leisure and play within their environment. This process involves
assessment, identification of strengths and needs, goal-setting, treatment
planning, and implementation of treatment in a direct, indirect or consultative
manner, as indicated, then discharge.
To be considered, candidates will
possess the following qualifications & skills:

Registration and
membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of
Ontario
·
Post-secondary
degree in occupational therapy
·
Sound
understanding of occupational therapy amongst children and youth
·
Strong interest or
experience in:
o
School Based
Rehabilitation
o
Autism Spectrum
Disorders
o
Active
rehabilitation 0-18 yrs. children with various neurological, developmental
and/or physical challenges
·
Ability to assess,
treat, consult and educate children and youth with physical and/or
developmental delays or challenges
·
Effectively
educate children/youth, families and other care providers related to their
specific needs, utilizing a variety of strategies and through a variety of
mediums (group, individual, lectures, online, etc.)
·
Ability to work as
a member of an interdisciplinary team
·
Bilingualism
considered an asset
·
Access to a
vehicle and possession of a driver’s license valid in Ontario
·
