Days of Significance Calendar
We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.
The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.
Note: Select days may vary by a few days before or after the indicated date due to the observance of the lunar calendar for some cultures/faiths and time zones.

National Speech Pathologist Day
On Speech-Language Pathologists Day, we recognize the vital role these specialists play in enhancing the lives of those affected by speech and language difficulties, whether stemming from developmental delays, neurological conditions, injuries, or other health issues. Their efforts empower individuals to communicate effectively, improve their quality of life, and participate more fully in their communities.
This day also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of speech-language pathology services and the challenges faced by those with communication disorders. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for support, resources, and advocacy to ensure access to comprehensive speech and language therapy for all who require it.
