Days of Significance Calendar

We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.

The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.

Note: Select days may vary by a few days before or after the indicated date due to the observance of the lunar calendar for some cultures/faiths and time zones.

Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) Day

Physiotherapy Assistant Day celebrates the invaluable contributions of physiotherapy assistants in the healthcare field. This day recognizes the dedication, skill, and compassion of these professionals who play a vital role in supporting physiotherapists and helping patients on their journey to recovery and improved mobility.

Physiotherapy assistants work closely with physiotherapists to implement treatment plans, assist patients with exercises and rehabilitation activities, and provide crucial support during therapy sessions. They often serve as a guiding hand, offering encouragement and motivation to patients as they work towards regaining strength, flexibility, and function.

Physiotherapy Assistant Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of these individuals, who play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for patients across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities.
