Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day – October 15 – is a time to honor and remember the heartbreaking losses experienced by bereaved parents. It’s also an opportunity to extend support to the countless families across Canada who have endured the pain of pregnancy loss or infant death.
In Ontario, this day was officially recognized on December 8, 2015, through Bill 141: the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness, Research, and Care Act.
Observances include remembrance ceremonies, candlelight vigils, and the global International Wave of Light, symbolizing unity and solidarity in grief.
