Days of Significance Calendar

We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.

The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.

Note: Select days may vary by a few days before or after the indicated date due to the observance of the lunar calendar for some cultures/faiths and time zones.

Good Friday

Good Friday is a Christian observance that takes place during the Easter season. It commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is often recognized as a day of reflection, remembrance, and quiet observance.

For many, Good Friday is a time to pause, spend time with family, and reflect on themes of compassion, sacrifice, and empathy. Traditions vary across cultures and beliefs, and some people observe the day through religious services, while others may mark it as a day of rest or personal reflection.
