Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA)
Days of Significance Calendar
We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.
The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.
Note: Select days may vary by a few days before or after the indicated date due to the observance of the lunar calendar for some cultures/faiths and time zones.

Transgender Day of Visibility
Transgender Day of Visibility is an international day dedicated to celebrating transgender and non-binary people while raising awareness about the experiences, achievements, and contributions of the trans community. Observed each year on March 31, the day highlights the importance of visibility, acceptance, and inclusion.
It is also an opportunity to recognize the challenges many transgender people continue to face and to reaffirm the importance of creating safe, supportive communities where everyone can live authentically.
At Niagara Children’s Centre, we believe every child and family deserves to feel respected, valued, and supported. Transgender Day of Visibility is a time to celebrate diversity and reaffirm our commitment to inclusive care for all children, youth, and families.
