We value the diverse identities, experiences, perspectives, and abilities of the children, youth, families, staff, board members, and community partners who make up our community.
The calendar provides opportunities for learning, reflection, recognition and celebration, while helping us better understand and appreciate the diverse experiences, identities and perspectives within our community. It is curated by our EDIA Committee as a resource to support meaningful engagement throughout the year.
Note: Select days may vary by a few days before or after the indicated date due to the observance of the lunar calendar for some cultures/faiths and time zones.

International Cochlear Implant Day
A celebration in memory of the first cochlear implant in the world by French doctors Djourno and Eyres in 1957. The day is also aimed to raise awareness among people with hearing disorders, about the benefits of implantation changing life for the better.
