Splashing Otters
Dive into this playful and engaging parent-and-child program designed for children 18 months to 3 years old. Sessions will be led by our Recreation Therapist Assistant and are designed to focus on
F-Words for Child Development as a framework for the group.
- Family: Strengthening parent-child relationships through shared success and encouragement
- Friends: Providing an environment for social interactions and shared excitement with peers
- Fitness: Learning to move in new ways – floating, kicking, and reaching all help build balance and body awareness
- Function: Developing confidence and control in the water through repetition, rhythm, and routine
- Fun: Inspiring participation with songs, games, and imaginative play
- Future: Reinforcing skills and fostering positive social experiences to inspire a lifelong love of learning and growth in the water
Splashing Otters is not a swim instruction or individualized goal-based program. The program aims to provide a social experience for those involved, along with strategies to build comfort in an aquatic environment while promoting general developmental skills and experiences.
Please note: Caregivers must remain in the program space to support and participate.
