March Break: Community Swim

Join Centre families and staff in exploring a fully accessible aquatic facility. We have privately booked the leisure pool for Centre families to come and try out, if you have not had the opportunity to do so. The facility includes multiple accessible features, including ceiling lifts, an adjustable change table, water wheelchairs, and ramp entry to the pool! See if this facility is a good fit for your family for a future family outing!

We MUST follow the pool ratio and guidelines below; no exceptions will be made as this is city policy. Please Read:
  • 6 years old and under: maximum child to adult ratio 2:1. Must always be accompanied in the water, within arms reach, by a parent, guardian, or designate (caregiver) who is at least 14 years of age.
  • 7-10 years old: maximum child to adult ratio 4:1. Must always be accompanied in the water, within arms reach, by a parent, guardian, or designate (caregiver) who is at least 14 years of age, and the child must remain in the shallow end of the pool if: a) the child does not pass the facility swim test, b) if the child passes the facility swim test, c) the child may be admitted unaccompanied
  • 11+ years of age. No supervision required. At the lifeguard’s discretion, you may be asked to complete a swim test
Please note: Niagara Children’s Centre will cover the cost of entry. Parents and Caregivers must go in the pool with their child/children while following the City of St. Catharines pool ratios.
